What this role actually does

Responsibilities and pain points, sourced from the production graph.

Key responsibilities

  • Grow Intermediary-sold Fund, ETF, SMA, or Alternative-product Assets by Converting Advisor Outreach Into Qualified Meetings, Placements, and Net Sales
  • Own Daily Advisor Coverage for an Assigned Territory by Making Proactive Calls, Emails, and Virtual Presentations to RIAs, Wirehouse Teams, Broker-dealers, and Retirement-plan Intermediaries
  • Maintain Territory CRM Accuracy by Recording Contacts, Meetings, Next Steps, Advisor Segmentation, and Conversion Outcomes in Salesforce on the Same Business Day
  • Partner with the External Wholesaler to Execute Territory Business Plans, Prioritize High-potential Advisors, and Coordinate Roadshows, Webinars, and Conference Follow-up
  • Explain Product Positioning, Performance Drivers, Portfolio Fit, and Competitive Comparisons Using Approved Fund Data and Advisor-ready Analytics
  • Respond to Inbound Advisor Questions on Product Availability, Fund Performance, Sales Materials, Account Support, and Platform Procedures Within Agreed Service Windows

Software pain points

  • Advisor and branch records go stale across CRM, platform lists, and third-party contact databases
  • Fund-flow, platform-position, and activity data sit in separate systems, making territory prioritization slow
  • Reps spend too much time rebuilding fund comparisons and portfolio exhibits before advisor calls
  • Approved decks, disclosures, and factsheets change faster than reps can verify what is safe to send
  • High outbound volume creates end-of-day CRM cleanup that delays follow-up and weakens manager reporting
  • Managers cannot prove which calls, webinars, and emails influenced advisor flows or reactivations

Workflow

A day in the workflow.

Starts day by reading market moves, fund-flow alerts, and product notes in Morningstar Direct, YCharts, and Microsoft Outlook; pulls priority advisor lists from Salesforce and Broadridge Distribution Insights, then blocks a call sprint in Salesforce with Outlook templates and LinkedIn Sales Navigator context; spends mid-morning calling RIAs, broker-dealer reps, and platform contacts through Microsoft Teams or Zoom Phone while logging activity, next steps, and meeting outcomes in Salesforce; uses Seismic to send approved decks, factsheets, and webinar follow-ups, then checks FINRA/firm compliance flags before personalizing messages; joins a territory huddle with the External Wholesaler over Microsoft Teams to rank prospects, review flow trends in Tableau, and assign next touches; closes by cleaning CRM records, scheduling advisor meetings in Outlook, updating pipeline dashboards in Salesforce, and sending end-of-day territory notes to sales management
